The Fitz Wetlands Educational Resource Center would not be possible without the generous contributions of grants, foundations, and private community donors.  Watsonville Wetlands Watch would like to thank these major contributors to the WERC building.

Watsonville Wetlands Watch, The Pajaro Valley Unified School District, and the City of Watsonville came together to fund the project in the following ways:

  • PVUSD provided the site, secured a matching grant to cover building costs, and contributed maintenance and overhead;
  • The City of Watsonville secured funding for $125,000 of capital costs, as well as fees, professional services, and donated labor;
  • Watsonville Wetlands Watch collected donations from over 120 local residents and businesses as well as $210,000 in capital grants.
